Low Blood Pressure Signs and Symptoms

The heart pumps nutrient and oxygen rich blood around the body continuously to supply needed energy for the body cells. This pumping generates a pressure called as blood pressure, it is normally indicated by 2 numbers, diastolic over systolic for example 120/80, 120 is systolic and 80 is diastolic.

Systolic
Systolic is the maximum pressure generated when the heart contracts, which occurs when the left ventricle of the heart contracts.

PRESSURE

Diastolic
Diastolic is the minimum pressure generated when the heart rests, which occurs when the heart dilated before it contract again.

Hypotension reading
A reading is considered as low when the systolic is lower than 90 or diastolic is lower than 60mmHg.

If any one of the systolic or diastolic is lower than required then it is called as low blood pressure or hypotension or hypotensive.

Fluctuating reading
Blood pressure can fluctuate by as much as 30 or 40 mmHg it will be at its lowest point during asleep or resting. And it is at its highest when physically active, very stressed or anxious. So it is always advicable to take reading many times at different days to confirm the low blood pressure.

Hypotension symptoms

If the blood pressure is lower than normal then there will be poor blood circulation, so low or no supply of nutrients and oxygen rich blood to extreme parts of the body. With low or no energy to the body cells causes many annoying symptoms called as hypotension symptoms they are:

o Blurred vision,
o Cold, clammy, pale skin,
o Dizziness,
o Fainting,
o Fatigue,
o Nausea,
o Palpitations,
o Rapid, shallow breathing and
o Depression
